Austin Young began his career with KPMG in Houston, Texas and was a partner in the Houston and New offices. He also held the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of American General Corporation for over eight year. From 1996 to 1999, he served as Executive Vice President – Finance and Administration of Metamor Worldwide, Inc. Mr. Young served as Senior Vice President, Chief Financial Officer and Treasurer of CellStar Corporation from 1999 to 2001, when he retired.

Mr. Young has served as a Director and Chairman of the Audit Committees of Tower Group, Inc, Amerisafe, Inc. and Insperity, Inc. He is a member of the Houston and State Chapters of the Texas Society of CPAs, the American Institute of CPAs, and the Financial Executives International.  He holds an accounting degree from The University of Texas. In addition to his professional career, Mr. Young has been active in numerous non-profit volunteer organizations at the board and committee levels. These include The Houston Ballet, the Boys and Girls Club of Austin County, the Alley Theatre and The Houston Zoo, Inc. His passion has been the Houston Zoo where he has been involved since 1977 and currently serves as a Director Emeritus and member of the Finance Committee.
