WE EXIST TO ENSURE THE SUSTAINABLE CONSERVATION OF WILDLIFE IN THE ZAMBESIA REGION & AFRICA AS A WHOLE.
The ZCA was founded by Robin, Luke and Suzanne Brown in April 2020 from their home base in Victoria Falls, Zimbabwe. All three founders are immensely passionate and dedicated wildlife enthusiasts. Between them they have vast amounts of experience in the travel and safari industry. Through their safari businesses, Cansaf Adventures and Vayeni Safaris, they have hosted countless journeys to Africa made by travellers from around the world. In so doing they have helped transform these visitors’ understanding and appreciation of Africa’s wildest spaces.
With the onset of Covid-19 Robin, Luke and Suzanne’s businesses suffered like so many others due to the loss of tourism. Not wanting to be beaten down by this they embraced the opportunity to grow their direct contribution towards conservation of African wildlife and its habitats. Following many discussions about the best way forwards the idea of a conservation alliance was born. Armed with an intimate understanding of the Zambesia region along with a strong local and international network, as well as plenty of creative flair they set out to make a meaningful difference.
Born and brought up in Zimbabwe, Nick is a third generation Zimbabwean, now living in the UK, from where he has been promoting investment into Africa, with a particular focus on Zimbabwe and the greater SADC region. As a Zimbabwean farmer, he was the first chairman of the farming community’s National Environment Committee and sat on the boards of a variety of organisations, among them an agricultural training institute and a local hospital.
Born in Malawi, Sally-Anne had a carefree semi nomadic life travelling around the country with her parents and brother, attending village schools whenever they stopped somewhere for long enough.
Austin Young began his career with KPMG in Houston, Texas and was a partner in the Houston and New offices. He also held the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Financial Officer of American General Corporation for over eight year. From 1996 to 1999, he served as Executive Vice President – Finance and Administration of Metamor Worldwide, Inc.
Tim is passionate about helping organisations to grow and achieve their goals at any stage of development. He has experience living and working on 4 continents in multiple industries covering engineering, manufacturing, telecommunications and software. The roles he has undertaken cover a broad range of hard technical skills and soft people skills including engineer, strategy consultant, programme director, business coach and senior leadership positions.
Born in Zimbabwe Gregg’s love and understanding for the African wilderness started at an early age. He has worked, walked in and photographed some of the most stunning areas over the past 30 years, allowing his creative streak to follow an adventurous spirit.
Suzanne is an enthusiastic participant in humanitarian work, which she has enjoyed for more than 30 years. She was heavily involved in Interact, Rotaract and Rotary, holding the posts of director, secretary, vice-president and president within the organisations at one time or another.
